The Team Members
Philip Sales
-Chicago, IL
Project Leader, Chief 3D Printing Engineer, Lead Designer
As a graduate student from Chicago, pursuing a masters in Biology, this unfortunate situation has allowed me to utilize my knowledge of Computer Aided Design to 3D print PPE for the Buffalo community. I am excited to get to lead and work with a bright bunch of dental students. My teammates and I are growing a business while continuing to learn about 3D printing and its many useful applications. We are happy to help in these unprecedented times to keep our community safe.
Savannah Tomaka

I am a third-year dental student at the University at Buffalo. After living in the City of Good Neighbors for 23 years, I want to help protect the workers and individuals who make this community so very special.
Jacob Graca
-Buffalo, NY
I'm a rising third year dental student at UB and I got involved with Buffalo 3D PPE because I wanted to play a role in helping with the PPE shortage in our community due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I have experience with 3D printing and CAD through research activities over the past four years and thought this would be the perfect way to use my skills to help assist healthcare workers and other essential employees.
Danielle Detwiler
-Buffalo, NY
I am very excited to be a part of this team, as it is unlike anything I have done thus far in dental school. As a 4th year dental student, I wanted to give back to the school in a way that would be beneficial given the current setback due to COVID-19. I'm really proud of what this team has accomplished thus far, and look forward to the rest of the year.
Shaina Chechang

Project Co-Leader, UB SDM & Community Liaison
I'm super excited to be part of this student initiative and help lead a team of dental students who are committed to keeping the WNY community safe and protected. It's been fun using my biotechnology background and utilizing my research experience to contribute to this project and organization. I have enjoyed working with alumni, 8th District, program directors, and members of the UB SDM Task Force who have all worked really hard during this time.
Jay Ciano

Georgia Kyriacou

I am an undergraduate at Case Western Reserve University studying Chemical Engineering with a focus on pre-dental. I joined this growing project to utilize my time in giving back to the community and to collaborate with current members/dental students to learn more about how 3D printing is being used for dental research.

Kierra Bleyle

I got involved with this project because I think that the work that people are doing on the frontlines is incredible and extremely selfless. I wanted to try and give back to those that risk their health for us every day.
Preethi Singh

Omer Hillel

Becoming a part of the team has allowed me to follow my passion of helping the community in any way that I can. I am really excited to be a part of this student-run project to help slow the spread of the virus and increase the supply of personal protective equipment. Unfortunately, COVID 19 has been a tragic circumstance with a profound and far reaching impact on all of us. Having the opportunity to work together will allow us to provide a more united front in overcoming this pandemic.
